Job summary
We are looking to recruit a new Clinical Specialist Paediatric Physiotherapist to provide a dedicated schools service for children and young people with special educational needs and physical disabilities. The local base will be Caerphilly Children's Centre with a lead role into Trinity Fields Special School. Whilst this will be the predominant location, all clinical specialists work to support the whole service delivery, establishing modernised approaches to clinical practice and developing an equitable, evidenced-based service offer. This post will be a lead clinician for ALN with a predominant focus on complex neuro-disability within special schools.
Knowledge of working with ALN/SEND special school settings, managing paediatric complex disabilities and considerable experience of postural management is required. Close collaboration with parents and education professionals is essential to this role. We are looking for an individual with the ability to empower and work in a consultative way, upskilling through delegated approaches for physical participation. A working knowledge of the MOVE approach is advantageous; however, training will be provided if necessary.
We need a forward-thinking clinician, with the skills to combine specialist clinical practice with innovation. You will be committed to following best practice and the promotion of high-quality physiotherapy services. We are a department that works collaboratively, are continually looking for ways to improve our service and every team member is valued. The Physiotherapy Service encourages staff development through internal and external training programmes, including speciality forums, clinical audit and research and clinical supervision and mentoring. We have a structured personal appraisal system in place, and you will be supported with opportunities to develop through personalised annual reviews. You will be supported by the Clinical Lead and Operational Management.
