Job summary
The Crisis Outreach Team (COT) aims to work intensively with families, young people and other agencies during crisis and post crisis, using a range of therapeutic approaches and interventions. COT works with families / carers and young people, mainly in community settings, however, we also work from safe therapeutic settings such as White Valley Centre, St Cadoc's Hospital, Grange University Hospital and some adult mental health acute inpatients wards. Alongside the Emergency Liaison Team and the Intensive Support and Engagement Team (ISET), COT is also part of the Specialist CAMHS Emergency Pathway.
Main duties of the job
A fixed term vacancy has arisen in the Crisis Outreach Team, part of the Emergency Pathway of the Specialist Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service. we are looking for a flexible, experienced nurse who is able to work with families and young people who are experiencing high anxiety as a result of psychiatric crisis.
The successful candidate will be expected to work as part of a multi disciplinary team, and will also need to be skilled at multi-agency working. We are looking for someone who has established and accredited skills, post -registration, and who is able to adapt to crisis situations as and when they arise.
We would be looking for a candidate who has CAMHS experience, or, who has experience of working in Crisis teams in other areas of Mental Health.
This post is fixed term for 12 months to meet the needs of the service.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
