Job summary
An exciting, innovative opportunity to work across community paediatrics and child and adolescent mental health services (CAMHS) in a hybrid role. This is a new, substantive consultant post. You will be based at St Cadoc's hospital, within the CAMHS department, but also undertake work at Serennu Children's Centre within south Gwent, alongside the community paediatric team. Serennu Children's Centre provides healthcare and leisure activities for children and young people with a disability or developmental difficulties throughout south Gwent.
Main duties of the job
The role involves neurodevelopmental assessments across the paediatric age range, medical paediatric input to the eating disorders team and general community paediatric responsibilities, including child development and disability.
You will contribute to the pan Gwent Child Protection Rota (Monday - Friday only, with no out of hours responsibilities) for Section 47 safeguarding medical examinations.

The basic salary range for this post is £82,356 per annum to £106,920 per annum plus a further £26,672 per annum available in Commitment Awards. Consultants in Wales paid on one of the first three points of the substantive Consultant pay scale also receive a Wales recruitment incentive payment
This position involves Regulated Activity with children as defined by the Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Act (amended by the Protection of Freedoms Act 2012) and the following checks will be undertaken following any conditional offer:
Enhanced check with barred list information, including a childrens barred list check
Applicants must hold full registration and a licence to practice with the GMC
Candidates for Consultant posts must also be on the GMC Specialist Register (including via CESR/European Community Rights) or will have a CCT/CESR(CP)date within 6 months of interview.
