Job summary

An exiting opportunity has arisen for 2 dynamic individuals to join the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards Team on a full time basis, working as Best Interest Assessor (DoLs)

The Best Interest Assessor role is a specialised role open to registered Social Workers, Nurses, OT's and Psychologists

Main duties of the job

The Deprivation of Liberties Safeguards Team supports the Supervisory Bodies to meet their statutory duty under the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (2009) (DoLS) by co-ordinating, undertaking Best Interests Assessments, completing reports for submission to the Supervisory Body when a request for an authorisations for a Deprivation of Liberty is requested by a Managing Authority (Hospitals and Care Homes).

The Team work specifically with people who lack capacity to consent to the arrangements made for their care or treatment, who require assessment to determine if their circumstances amount to a deprivation of liberty to protect them from harm and is deemed to be in their Best Interests.

The role of the Best Interest Assessor is a key role in both co-ordinating and undertaken and completing DoLs assessments.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this role; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
