Job summary
An exciting opportunity for a deputy ward manager has arisen within Bellevue Ward , at St Cadocs Hospital.
Belleview ward provides psychology based slow stream rehabilitation in a 6-bedded all female unit. The unit offers a Health Board wide service and therefore accepts referrals for patients within the catchment area of Aneurin Bevan University Health Board. It is a locked ward, although the structured physical environment is designed to promote safety and facilitate bespoke therapeutic management and intervention for women experiencing a wide range of mental health issues. The ward MDT are supported by Hiraeth Team who assist in the provision of case formulation, training, reflective practice and 1:1 therapeuticinterventions from psychological perspective. It is an integral part of the Health Board's mental health patient pathway.
The Unit offers long term, individualized care for those patients who are detained under the Mental Health Act and who are in need of a gradual transition to the next phase of their treatment pathway, with the focus being on rehabilitation via exploration of psychological interventions and occupation.
Main duties of the job
The Deputy Ward Manager is a senior member of the inpatient team and will be responsible for the care coordination of patients and support the Ward Manager with the day to day clinical management of the ward, have excellent communication skills, be highly motivated and have the ability to respond effectively to arising mental and physical health needs, provide sound clinical practice and guidance to junior staff, be adaptable, and capable of delivering a high standard of care.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
