Job summary

The Band 6 nurse is a member of a Community Learning Disability Team for adults and is responsible for an allocated caseload and contributing towards the development of clinical practice within the team.

The Band 6 nurse will also facilitate the development of student nurses and junior members of the team.

To provide up to date, high quality evidence based specialist nursing interventions for people with learning disabilities and ensure the client and carer are fully involved in the process.

Main duties of the job

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Community Learning Disability Nurse within the Newport Community Learning Disabilities Team. The ethos of the team is very much to provide specialist healthcare for people with a Learning Disability in a multi agency and multi disciplinary way. The health element of the team consists of Psychiatry, Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Speech and Language Therapy, and Psychology. You will be joining a team with a passion for progressive person-centred care and one that thrives on ensuring the very best quality of life for the people we support.

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and highly motivated RNLD who is willing to learn, enhance and share their current skills. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, be flexible in their approach and be able to use their own initiative.
