Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen to for a permanent, full time Consultant Practitioner Psychologist (Band 8C) to provide clinical leadership for the developing Part One Psychological Therapies Service. The service aims to deliver high quality and evidence-based psychological interventions in both group and individual formats. The service seeks to align with Matrics Cymru and, as such, provides a choice of interventions that are evaluated to a high standard as part of a continuous cycle of improvement. The service aims to provide intervention to individuals experiencing moderate levels of distress for whom a low intensity approach has not or will not be sufficient.
The successful candidate will be leading a team of practitioners trained to Masters/ accredited levels in psychological intervention, Assistant Psychologists and those in training roles. There will be time and space to continue their own clinical practice/specialism. They will be supported in their role as a leader and clinician by the Head of Adult Specialty and a Clinical Supervisor.
The post-holder will join a growing and thriving specialty who have a rich array of highly specialist clinical skills and a robust sense of professional identity and integrity. Within the department there are accredited and consultant practitioners in a range of psychological interventions including CAT, DBT, MBT, EMDR and MBCT.
Main duties of the job
We are seeking a kind, compassionate and committed psychologist to join our department and lead on the continued development of a Part One Psychological Therapies Service. The successful candidate will provide the clinical, operational and strategic management and leadership of a small team of psychological practitioners to support the design and delivery of group interventions that are accessible, acceptable and appropriate for service users.
Demonstrable service improvement expertise and service leadership skills will be crucial.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
