Job summary
We are seeking bright, keen and motivated individuals to join our pharmacy team at St. Mary's Pharmaceutical Unit (SMPU). We are a regulated manufacturing unit working to good manufacturing practice . The pharmacy directorate is forward thinking and friendly and offers opportunities to develop in all areas. It is a busy directorate and delivers a pharmacy service throughout Cardiff and Vale UHB and to external customers.
We would welcome applications from individuals with a NVQ level 3 Pharmacy Services and BTEC in Pharmaceutical Sciences, or an equivalent HNC/HND, or a scientific degree.
Direct experience is not necessary as the right candidate will be given the necessary training.
Main duties of the job

Direct experience though desirbale is not necessary as the right candidate will be given the necessary training.You will join our successful rotation which will provide the specialist training and education required for the important skills required in our Pharmacy Technical Services department . The rotation will allow you to gain experience in aseptic preparation, compounding of total parenteral nutrition, non-sterile and sterile manufacturing, documentation production and control, supply chain and clinical trial manufacture. The skills and knowledge you will gain from the role will allow you to decide where you would like to specialist and help you develop your career.
The pharmacy directorate has a positive approach to training and development and sees this role as developmental to enable candidates to progress to band 5 posts when appropriate.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

The current service provided by Cardiff & Vale University Health Board and its employees will therefore transfer to NWSSP in line with the transition period.
