Job summary
The post holder will lead on the delivery, contract management, sustainability and long-term strategic planning ofprimary care services across Cardiff and Vale across all contractor professions.You will also play a key role in taking forward the strategic agenda for the Health Board including the implementation of 'Shaping Our Future Wellbeing' and 'A Healthier Wales' developing new models of care working in collaboration with locality teams. As such you will be responsible for collaborating and negotiating with contractors, service providers and professional committees to identify and achieve service development and improvement, evaluating through performance management and lead the production and delivery of specific plans and projects to meet the healthcare needs of the local population.
You will be part of a team responsible for resolving contract management issues that arise within primary care and play a key role in supporting the sustainability agenda and supporting implementation, delivery and oversight of specific projects and plans.
You will be required to demonstrate appropriate analytical ability, comprehension skills, intellectual capacity and knowledge of relevant contract/legislation, regulatory frameworks, performance management, clinical governance and financial arrangements across Primary Care Contractor Services.

Main duties of the job
o Planning, developing, implementing and monitoring primary care contracts for the UHB incorporating NHS guidance and policies/strategic direction in Wales.o Support the development, planning and long-term sustainability of primary care services and when required, responsible for delivering core GMS services where necessary in managed and independent GP Practiceso Managing Primary Care Contractors in implementing and adhering to the national contracts, including variations and performance managemento Supporting the implementation of Shaping Our Future Wellbeing and A Healthier Wales, working with key stakeholders both internal and external to the organisation to develop new service models for primary care working closely with locality teams.o Developing, implementing and monitoring the Primary Care Commissioning Strategy and Primary Care Strategy for Estates ensuring that they meet the needs of our population and improve access.o Assisting with the management of the Primary Care budgets including contractor's fees and allowances
