Job summary
This post is aimed at a post-CCT/senior registrar level with solid background in gastroenterology, looking to get specialist experience in IBD.There is no on call commitment for this role.

Main duties of the job
During your role, you'll have the opportunity to participate in regular complex IBD inpatient and outpatient work. This will include:
Joint IBD / Surgical clinics
IBD / PSC clinics
IBD pregnancy outpatient reviews
Paediatric to adult IBD transition clinics
Weekly IBD joint IBD, Radiology, Histology, Colorectal surgery MDT (Comprehensive MDT)
Weekly IBD advanced therapy MDT
Access to dedicated training list for chromoendoscopy and IBD/PSC surveillance and detection of dysplastic lesions, depending on the candidate's level of endoscopic experience
IBD hot clinics for acute flares on both sites
The successful candidate would also be expected to provide urgent IP consultations to patients presenting with acute severe colitis and liaise with our IBD surgeons and wider MDT to ensure appropriate inpatient management.
Involvement in multicenter IBD trials. Dr Durai is research lead for many significant IBD research projects, giving rise to the opportunity to participate in many studies and publications.
Participate in mandated departmental and service audits, alongside service improvement projects.
