Job summary

The NHS Research and Delivery (R&D) Departments led by the R&D Director provide local services for research support and facilitates for the sponsoring and hosting of studies within each University Health Board (UHB).

Part of this service includes a specialist Haematology Clinical Research Group (CRG) NHS team consisting of Research Nurses and Research Administration Manager and team members to support the delivery of high-quality Haematology studies.

Main duties of the job

An exciting opportunity has become available within the Haematology research nursing team to appoint a Band 7 Research Nurse Manager. This Band 7 research nurse manager will be leading the team to deliver [advanced] trial treatments and therapeutics, i.e. SACT (Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapies), inclusive of chemotherapy, targeted therapies, biological therapies and immunotherapies within the haematology department and throughout the University Health Board.

We are seeking a Band 7 Nurse with a keen interest in research to manage and drive the service forward to deliver a varied portfolio. The post holder will have a specialist knowledge in Haematology, SACT, and/or clinical research delivery.

The post holder will work autonomously in the management of a caseload of clinical trial patients, whilst leading the team. The post holder will be able to maintain effective communication with patients, carers and professionals to ensure high quality service delivery, across all research trial activities, early and late phase.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
