Job summary
We are pleased to offer an exciting opportunity for 2 x Band 4 Occupational Therapy technician posts within the babies, children and young people's Occupational Therapy team based Ysgol Y Deri special school. One post is full time, the other is full time; term time only. The school has a wide and diverse range of differently able pupils and caters for children and young people from 3-19 years olds. The post holder will work closely with the Occupational Therapists, Multidisciplinary team, teachers and class room staff, to ensure that children and young people receive a timely occupational therapy interventions. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and /or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will work with a MDT including teachers and class room staff, providing Occupational Therapy interventions under the direction of a qualified Occupational Therapist (OT). The OT's work with children, young people and their families to ensure they receive timely assessment and interventions. These full time Occupational Therapy technician posts will provide an opportunity to support these assessments and interventions along with reviewing and managing the equipment provision in the service. The successful applicant will have:
- Excellent communication skills as will need to speak to parents, teaching staff and MDT members.
- Ability to think creatively and flexibly
- Be able to demonstrate the UHB values
- Excellent organisational skills
