Healthcare Support Worker - Trauma & Orthopaedics

Job summary

We have positions in Trauma Clinic in the University Hospital of Wales for Health Care support worker.

Cardiff and Vale University Health Board Trauma Clinic encompasses a wide variety of Adult and Paediatric Trauma and Orthopaedic conditions. The role offers the successful applicant the opportunity to gain casting skills, through practical experience as well as formally undertaking the BOA Casting course, as well as experience in complex wound management along with general clinic duties.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for enthusiastic, motivated, flexible in approach and interested in working within a busy Trauma Clinic. If this is you, an opportunity has arisen to take up Health Care support worker post within Trauma Clinic. The successful candidate will be required to assist the trained staff in caring for patients attending the Trauma Clinic and Plaster room.

Applicants should have good interpersonal and organisational skills and be dedicated to providing high quality nursing care to patients. The department is demanding but rewarding area to work in. You will work closely with other disciplines within Trauma and Orthopaedics team. We are friendly team open to change and new ideas.

We have an educational pathway to support ongoing educational development to enable all staff to maximise their potential in providing safe and effective care while supporting staff in academic learning.
