Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic research nurse to join an evolving research team.The role will entail working as a bispecific research nurse, following a recent finance review and allocation of commercial funds.
A nurse with a vision to improve all aspects of early phase research from laboratory work to early phase studies and biobanking is needed and someone with adequate clinical experience is needed.
The nurse will be responsible for a number of haematology trials and be able to work both within a team and autonomously when required to support patients who are eligible for clinical trials.
The Haematology unit is one of the largest trials units within the University Hospital of Wales and works with a large number of commercial and non commercial trials, providing a vast and variable workload.
Main duties of the job
An exciting opportunity has arisen within Cardiff and Vale University R&D for a Clinical Research Nurse to be a part of the Haematology Research Group .
We are seeking to employ a band 6 Registered Nurse with acute nursing experience and a keen interest in clinical research. Previous research experience is not essential as in-house training will be provided.
The post will involve caring for patients through early phase trials, whilst being responsible for managing a portfolio of trials.
The role will involve an element of flexible working in line with the needs of the service and individual clinical trial requirements.
The post holder will be based in the Clinical Research Group within the University Hospital of Wales.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
This post is fixed term/secondment for 2 years to meet the needs of the service. If you are interested in applying for the secondment position, you must obtain permission from your current line manager prior to applying for this post.
