An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Operational Manager in Surgery Clinical Board
This is a fantastic opportunity for a highly motivated individual to use their expert clinical knowledge and influencing skills to support the patients journey through our services. At a time when clinical services are more stretched than ever, your work will involve a range of activities to support the provision of expert patient care as well as efficient and effective use of our bed capacity. An understanding of patient flow in acute settings is essential. We are passionate about ensuring that patients receive the right care at the right time and in the right place.
Required is an individual who has both an engaging and supportive approach, with the understanding and use of collective leadership being central to the success of the role. Highly developed skills in communication and co-ordination are required as well as experience in using UHB wide administrative functions.
The successful candidate will be supported in their own leadership and management development through supervision, appraisal, and study to ensure revalidation.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will utilise expert clinical knowledge and skills to lead in the provision and management of a quality patient flow/pathway service, ensuring the most effective and appropriate use of bed capacity within Surgery Clinical Board.
The Clinical Operational Manager plays a central role within Surgery Clinical Board ensuring organisation management and monitoring of the patient flow/pathway, in order to deliver a standardised and coordinated approach to patient flow. The focus of the role is improving the patient experience and quality of care, while ensuring timely flow is maintained.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
