Job summary
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a full time or part time, experienced physiotherapy support worker to join the Elderly Care Assessment service at University Hospital Llandough.
The ideal candidate will have strong team skills, an ability to communicate well with other colleagues and excellent motivational skills.
The physiotherapy team within the Elderly Care Assessment Service is passionate about working with frailer individuals to give them opportunities for specialised rehabilitation. ECAS is an outpatient service for frail older persons which operates at two locations; St David's Hospital and the University Hospital Llandough so the successful candidate may be expected to work at both sites.
Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will work alongside the qualified physiotherapists supporting patients' rehabilitation. They will be expected to deliver delegated treatment programs that they will progress within set guidelines.
You will need to demonstrate an interest in rehabilitation and must demonstrate excellent communication skills. It is important that you are a team player with a positive outlook, adaptable to change, showing enthusiasm and ability to learn and develop new skills.
The successful candidate will supervise exercise-based rehabilitation both for individuals and groups.
Flexibility is essential as you may also be required to support other physio teams depending on service priorities, this may include community working. Both posts may include aspects of personal care.
Your role will also include administrative tasks and contributing to the general running of the Physiotherapy Department.
Previous experience in both rehabilitation in a hospital setting and classwork would be advantageous.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
