Job summary
Fixed Term for 12 months initially with a view of being made permanent.
Applicants are invited to apply for the post of Specialty Doctor in Medical Retina in the department of Ophthalmology based at the University Hospital of Wales.
A full-time work programme will normally comprise ten sessions per week and it is anticipated that the post holder will have 'in the order of two sessions per week' for supporting professional activities included within this (based on a basic full-time commitment) subject to a minimum of one session; the remaining sessions will bededicated to direct clinical care. A full session is normally four hours duration.
All posts in the Health Board are compliant with the European Working Time Directive.Direct clinical care covers:-o Emergency duties (including emergency work carried out during or arising from oncall)o Operating sessions including pre and post-operative careo Ward roundso Outpatient clinicso Clinical diagnostic worko Other patient treatmento Public health dutieso Multi-disciplinary meetings about direct patient careo Administration directly related to patient care e.g. referrals, notes etc.
