A rare, exciting and new role has arisen in the Welsh Gender Service (WGS) within Cardiff and Vale Health Board.
The Welsh Gender Service (WGS) was established in 2019, to provide gender services to the population of wales striving to deliver equitable and person centred care for those needing access to gender services.
The WGS operates as part of a network involving local clinicians to ensure that care is offered closer to home, via your Local Health Board.
The role of Clinical Nurse Specialist for Endocrinology (WGS) is a role critical to ensuring timely access to appropriate advice and guidance for local clinicians in supporting the care of patients. Providing specialist input and advice relating to endocrinological care of patients within the service.
The role will be working closely with the Clinical Director of the WGS as well as working closely with the wider MDT, including the WGS CNS, clinical psychologists, GP's, Medical Consultants and administrative staff to name few.
We are looking for a practitioner who has a passion for gender services and care, emits a strong ethos of advocacy to support our patients and service. Someone who is a great team player and leader to work within a passionate and driven team.
previous experience in endocrinology is desirable, however additional training will be provided.

Working as an autonomous practitioner devise, implement and follow up specialist treatments across the disease spectrum for patients within a specific group. To be a skilled practitioner providing expert clinical care using an extensive theoretical knowledge base and practical experience to underpin the role, while acting as a role model for the delivery of expert care on an All Wales basis.
