Job summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with a 'can do attitude ' to work alongside our busy Ophthalmology nursing team within Cardiff and Vale UHB. Situated in the University Hospital of Wales outpatient department, the Ophthalmology treatment centre provides a variety of services, including eye emergency, eye theatre and nurse led clinics including intravitreal injection services. The successful candidate will be employed as an Ophthalmology Specialist Nurse, Band 6 and would be involved in working in our Eye Casualty Service, running nurse led clinics and delivering specialist eye intervention treatments.

The role is varied and provides vital and essential care to the patient with visual concerns.
Essential requirements for this role are a keen interest in delivering the best care possible for your patients. A desire to learn and develop into managing own caseload and work autonomously is essential. Desirable criteria is for post qualification experience within either surgical or outpatient areas.
It would be desirable for applicants to have ophthalmology experience., however, this is not essential as we will provide on the job training and support.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
