Job summary
The Cardiothoracic Directorate is a busy and growing service based at University Hospital of Wales and University Hospital Llandough.
We are looking for a capable and enthusiastic individual to work alongside our Cardiothoracic Lead Nurse Team . The applicant should have the essential requirements outlined in the personal specification , with excellent communication and organisational skills, ability to work with minimum supervision and the ability to prioritise their own workload. Excellent audio typing/typing skills is also an essential requirement for this role.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this role; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply
Main duties of the job
- To provide a high standard of administration support to the Cardiothoracic Nursing Team and wider cardiology clinical teams as and when required.
- Retrieval and filing of medical notes as required.
- Receiving and opening of mail and taking appropriate action
- To support the Cardiothoracic Nursing Team in providing a comprehensive service to the consultants and clinical teams.
- To provide cross-cover across the cardiology department as and when required
- Photocopying and scanning as required
- Answering the telephone and liaising with the Cardiothoracic Nursing Team to resolve patient queries efficiently and effectively
- Maintaining accurate filing systems
- Liaising with medical records as and when needed.
- Liaising with other departments both internal and external to the Health Board
- Assisting with any other administration duties as required
- Support with data collection
