Cardiff and Vale UHB are able to offer an exciting opportunity to join our forward-thinking Physiotherapy team. We are looking for a Highly Specialist Physiotherapist to provide clinical leadership for our Physiotherapy team, within the Acute Neuro-Sciences unit at the University Hospital of Wales.
Our Physiotherapists are an integral part of the multi-disciplinary team and as a successful candidate, you will have the opportunity to provide high quality physiotherapy to patients with diverse presentations and complex physical conditions. As the regional centre for South Wales, the patient caseload is varied and includes patients with impairments related to many conditions including; Traumatic Brain Injury, Neuro-oncology, Neurovascular, Guillain Barre Syndrome and Multiple Sclerosis. We are looking for a dynamic, motivated Physiotherapist who can provide decisive and effective therapy input and can demonstrate leadership qualities, high level of communication skills and a flexible approach when working under pressure.
The Department of Physiotherapy provides full induction, a comprehensive programme of in-service training, regular appraisal and opportunities for development.
You may be required to work your normal contracted hours flexibly in a variety of different working patterns in response to the needs of the service where they are placed.
Main duties of the job
They will manage a clinical case load, undertaking specialist clinical physiotherapy duties predominantly based within the specialist area. They will be responsible for planning and delivering education and specialist training and operationally manage a team, providing expert advice in their clinical field. They will work as an autonomous practitioner. They will undertake specialist clinical physiotherapy duties. They will act as an expert for Physiotherapists and other members of the multi-disciplinary team within this specialist field.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
