Job summary

A new and exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 4 Speech and Language Therapy Technician to join our small team. This position will be 15hrs a week. We are seeking an enthusiastic and proactive person with excellent communication and IT skills.

Based in the Stroke Rehabilitation Centre in UHL, you will provide administrative and therapeutic support to the adult Speech and Language Therapy team. As part of a multi-disciplinary team, you will provide innovative one-to-one and group based-rehabilitation.

Main duties of the job

To provide highly specialised support work, under the direction of registered therapists in order to maintain effective therapy provision to the in-patient stroke rehabilitation service at Llandough Hospital. This means supporting the Speech & Language Therapy team in providing a service for individuals with communication difficulties and disorders of swallowing. To work under supervision to assist the therapist in clinical and administrative duties. To be responsible for delegated routine interventions, to be carried out independently and to progress these interventions within guidelines laid down by the therapists.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
