Job summary
We are looking to employ a full time Assistant Technical Officer to join our Medicines Management Team at the University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff . Duties are varied and will include providing customer care at the pharmacy reception, dispensing for inpatients and outpatients across a wide range of specialties in the Dispensary and supporting the Medicines Management Technicians on ward.
Whilst NVQ Level 2 in pharmacy service and Medicines Management for pharmacy support staff qualifications are required for this post, we welcome applicants who wish to work towards these qualifications and full training will be provided. This will include competency-based training. During training the contract will be Annex 21: 75% of a Band 3 for up to 12 months until qualifications in both NVQ Level 2 and Medicines Management are achieved.
Main duties of the job
You should have good communication & interpersonal skills; be motivated, flexible, adaptable and able to work well in an environment of change and transition.
NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services and or experience of working in a Pharmacy would be desirable but full training would be given through our in-house training programmes to the right candidate.
You will need to have a good standard of education and GCSEs at grade C or above in Maths and English.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
