This post is fixed term/secondment for 8 months to meet the needs of the service.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated Public Health Practitioner, with excellent communication skills, to join our busy and dynamic team.
This is a specialist Public Health role within Cardiff and Vale Public Health Team that contributes to the planning, development, delivery and evaluation of partnership programmes and initiatives to promote health and wellbeing with a particular focus on schools.
You will be able to use your excellent communication and team working skills to support delivery of theWelsh Network of Health and Wellbeing Promoting Schools programme in the Vale of Glamorgan.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this role; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
Main duties of the job
Specifically, the post holder will plan, deliver and monitor the Welsh Network Health and Wellbeing Promotion Schools in the Vale of Glamorgan programme, and will work with schools across the Vale of Glamorgan locality. The post holder will have proven ability to work successfully with diverse partners across a range of organisations, with a particular emphasis on working with, or in, schools.
The post holder will support specific health promotion initiatives and programmes with schools and with identified target groups, including community health development.
Responsibilities are at a local Public Health Team level and the post holder is expected to work under the direction and guidance of Senior Public Health staff/Public Health Director who will agree specific work objectives on an annual basis according to local needs and priorities.
