Job summary
Responsible to provide a comprehensive delivery, stock ordering and stock control for the Emergency Unit and Combined Assessment Units. The recording, safekeeping and returning of any lost property that may be handed in.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
Main duties of the job
- To control and maintain stock levels and control (including stock rotation) including adhering to financial expenditure and standards within the Emergency and Acute Medicine Stores, ordering and issuing consumables where required.
- Check all goods are in good order and in date, if items are not theninvestigate why and resolve issue.
- To be able after training to use IT based systems and equipment todeliver and issue stock.
- To be responsible for the weekly ordering of directorate consumables via the Oracle ordering system.
- To be responsible for receiving/checking and receipting of goodsdelivered to the Emergency and Acute Medicine Stores.
- Assist in maintaining a central store for the Emergency and AcuteMedicine Directorate.
- Excellent communication with staff/suppliers/patients where negotiating skills are required to help a smooth running of the stores.
- To undertake the monitoring of all equipment on the asset register.
- To liaise with outside companies and UHB MST to arrange the repair of all equipment for Unscheduled Care.
- To monitor maintenance contracts for all machinery.
- Keep accurate record and log all lost property for department, liaising with cashiers and relatives as necessary. This will involve contacting relatives of deceased patients.
- Required to comment on any changes to procedures regarding lostproperty and/or procurement for own area.
- To plan deliveries when away on annual leave, to organise correct safe keep.
