Clinical Research Group - Data Manager
Based in the Haematology department the post holder will provide comprehensive data management support to the department. The CRG Data Manager will have responsibility for all data quality issues within the BMT Unit including the day to day collection, management, analysis and reporting of All Wales Haematological Malignancy data, liaising closely with clinicians across Wales and have responsibility for data collection using local and national databases. This will require the creation and maintenance of accurate manual and electronic data collection systems and ensuring that the department's reporting requirements to external registries are met. The post holder would be responsible primarily for the data reporting for the Cellular Therapy clinical trials and would work alongside the current Data Managers for shared duties.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will provide a focal point for information requests and queries within the department. The post holder will ensure the clinical data source, collection, entry and transfer of information is of the highest standard, and will be expected to develop the databases and the systems and processes associated with them, as the needs of the service change. Data regarding patients who are in research trials will be validated, completed and returned to study groups in an accurate and timely fashion, supporting high quality academic research.
The post holder will be expected to contribute to and monitor achievement against JACIE standards. This post is therefore an integral part of the haematology team and will report directly to the research manager lead.

This post is fixed term/secondment for 24 months to meet the needs of the service.
