Job summary
Opportunities are available to be part of a 4-year rotation within South Wales. This is an exciting rotation that's aimed to provide ST equivalent level experience.
The rotations are available from 7th August 2024 for 4 years in the following Health Boards,
- Aneurin Bevan University Health Board
- Cardiff and Vale University Health Board
- Cwm Taf University Health Board
- Swansea Bay University Health Board
Successful applicants will gain valuable experience in Trauma & Orthopaedics, along with opportunities to undertake a funded MSc of their choice; applicants will also be encouraged to attend the regular ST teaching along with current Trainees.
All units have an excellent track record nationally and internationally and have trained surgeons who are now consultants in the UK, Europe, Middle East and Australasia.
The post is noteducationally approved and will therefore not attract a National Training Number, but you will receive the similar experience as the Trainees and have access to the similar benefits as above.
Main duties of the job
This is a rotation and all post holders will be required to move between the hospitals mentioned above - varying numbers of posts mean that not all post holders will work in every centre but the aim is for each employee to have 2 years experience in one of the larger hospitals - (Cardiff/Swansea/Newport) and 2 years in one of the smaller hospitals (Merthyr/Bridgend)
