Job summary
The NHS Research and Delivery (R&D) Departments led by the R&D Director provide local services for research support and facilitates for the sponsoring and hosting of studies within each University Health Board (UHB). Part of this service includes a specialist Cardiothoracic NHS research delivery team consisting of Research Nurses and a Research Administration Manager employed by NHS organisations to support the delivery of high quality Cardiothoracic health and social care studies.
Main duties of the job
An exciting opportunity for a cardiothoracic research nurse has become available on a part time basis within the cardiothoracic directorate. The research nurse will become part of the team supporting thoracic and acute cardiology research throughout the University Health Board.
We are seeking a band 6 research nurse that is able to work flexibly to support the service and contribute to studies within our varied portfolio and who has a keen interest in research. The post holder will have a specialist knowledge in either thoracic or cardiology, enabling the post holder to work independently.
The post holder will work autonomously to assist in the management of a caseload of clinical trial patients, whilst working as part of a multi-disciplinary team. The post holder will be able to maintain effective communication with patients, carers and professionals to ensure high quality service delivery.
The post holders will be working within a team of staff based within the Sir Geraint Evans Cardiovascular Research Building at UHW, supporting researchers with high quality studies throughout the health board.
This post is fixed term for12 months due to - meet the needs of the service.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
