Job summary
Due to service re-structuring a rare ad exciting opportunity has become avilable to lead and develop a paediatric adolescent Musculoskeletal service. We are looking for a dynamic, innovative and experienced physiotherapist to join the paediatric musculoskeletal and orthopaedic team. This post is a unique opportunity to develop and lead on an innovative model of care that supports the hollistic care of children and yound people with musculoskeltal conditions. You will work closely with the principla physiotherapist to collabratively design a new model of care for 13-16 year olds.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
Main duties of the job
This role will lead and develop our MSK adolescent service supporting the management and pathway navigation of children and young people aged 13-16 who present with musculoskeletal and orthopaedic conditions. This cohort of patients are currently managed within adult services but due to service improvements and re-design this role will be operationally managed by the paedaitric service.
The successful candidate will work closely with the prinicpal physiotherapist and the team lead physiotherapists to develop the paediatric MSK outpatient service with potential opportunities to further develop the service to encompass 0-16 year olds across the pathway.
They will be responsbile for the day to day operational running of the service, clinical supervision of a wider team across two sites; Barry and Childrens hospital for Wales as well as managing a clinical case load. There will be opportunities to work closley with wider stakeholders including orthopeadics, trauma clinic's, hydrotherapy and tertiary specialist services.
There is a strong service development and improvement aspect to this role with opportunities for research and audit.
