Job summary

We are seeking an enthusiastic leader who is looking to develop skills and gain experience in service development, innovation and change management. We welcome applications from across Allied Health Professionals and Nursing. Our All Wales Neuropsychiatry service is currently undergoing transformation and working towards a hub and spoke, liaison model. This will allow Neuropsychiatry to act as a specialist resource to support appropriate management of people with brain injuries to services across Wales. This support will be goal centred, time limited and prudent in approach. The successful applicant will be integral to this development and play a key role is supporting and developing staff.

Main duties of the job

The successful applicant will be responsible for overall operational management of the multi-professional community and day unit team, effective management of change, developing relationships with wider teams. They will also work closely with other MDT professionals across Neuropsychiatry services in terms of service development. The ability to work under pressure, demonstrate resilience in challenging situations and demonstrate excellent communication skills is essential.

The post holder will be responsible as a designated team lead for delivering evidence- based holistic care to patients within the context of a multi-disciplinary service.

To supervise and manage the daily workload in such a way to maximise efficiency, ensuring that duties are discharged safely and effectively. This includes the processing, evaluation and allocation of referrals as appropriate to the team's function, and an efficient caseload management

The post holder will have clinical, procedural and budget holder responsibility for the service and will be responsible for scoping the service and developing care pathways in collaboration with the MDT and Directorate Management Team.

The post holder will supervise the day-to-day work of the clinical team, and provide expertise and guidance in complex and high-risk cases, in line with UHB policies and procedures.
