Job summary

Cardiff and Vale University Health Board Community Dietetic service has a vacancy for a Band 6 Dietitian to work as part of the VCRS (Vale Community Resource Service) based in Barry Hospital. The post holder will be responsible for the day to day management of a specialist caseload in the, including undernutrition and home enteral feeding, working as part of a small team of dietitians and Nutrition Nurses.

As well as supporting clients in their own home through home visits and virtual consultations we also support clients in Care Homes, through providing training and interventions. The service supports a food first approach in the first line management of nutritional risk. The post holder will be required to provide support across the geographical area of Cardiff and Vale.

Main duties of the job

Working in the specialist area of undernutrition and enteral tube feeding. Responsible for development, provision and evaluation of the dietetic service. Including prioritising and managing a highly complex caseload using evidence based client centred principals to assess, plan, implement and evaluate dietetic interventions in the community setting.

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate excellent communication skills, a practical, forward thinking approach to service development and evaluation and the ability to work in a team

Previous clinical experience of community dietetics is an advantage.
