Job summary

Applicants are invited for the post of Fixed Term Appointment (STRH) covering a Training Post in Ophthalmology at the University Hospital of Wales to commence on 20th January 2024 until 6th August 2024 Please note that in addition to the essential qualifications given in the attached person specification, MRCP Part 2 or equivalent is desirable.

Main duties of the job

English

Essential

  • MBBS or equivalent Medical Qualification
  • Current GMC certificate
  • FRCOphth or equivalent
  • Evidence of achievement of ST1 and ST2 competencies in Ophthalmology
  • Effective communication skills- verbal and written up to date with current medical practices

Desirable

  • Evidence of relevant academic and research achievements, e.g degrees, prizes, awards, distinctions, publications, presentations, other achievements
  • Evidence of ability to perform ophthalmic procedures
  • Evidence of active participation in one ophthalmic audit where the audit loop has been completed
