Job summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Assistant technical officer to work as part of our team at the Aseptic unit at PSU LLandough Hospital Penarth. The post comprises a variety of activities involved in the preparation of parenteral drugs. You will assist in the provision of an efficient cytotoxic reconstitution service for the Haematology department and the compounding of intravenous additives in prefilled syringes for within the health board.
Main duties of the job
You will perform a variety of tasks on a daily basis, including assembling raw materials and equipment required for aseptic manufacture, aseptically prepare drug doses, label and pack products for transport and participate in environmental monitoring and cleaning schedules. You will need to have a good practical ability, be dextrous, pay good to attention to detail and have good communication skills. You will also need to work using your own initiative or as part of the team to complete workloads according to schedules and services.
It will be desirable for you to have GCSE in Mathematics and English and National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) Level 2 . On the job training will be given in all aspects of the job and you will be expected to complete extra NVQ units relevant to this area.
