This is a new exciting role for our team funded through Cardiff Local authority and and we welcome the opportunity to work in partnership to develop this new service supporting children and young people who require a therapeutic diet living in Cardiff.
We have a vacancy for up to a 1.0 WTE Band 7 Dietitian. We would consider applicants requesting both full-time and part-time hours.
The successful candidate will join a friendly and supportive department with opportunities for professional and personal development. They will be actively involved in the research, audit and the Quality and Safety agenda of the department and UHB
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be the lead catering dietitian for schools working across site with the acute and community dietetic services. The successful candidate will have a key role in establishing a dietetic service in partnership with Cardiff council ensuring appropriate school meal provision for children requiring a therapeutic diet in both mainstream and special schools. This role will have a clinical element supporting those children requiring a therapeutic diet in school.
As the dietetic lead you will work closely with the Cardiff council in implementing and monitoring service development initiatives in line with national quality indicators.
The post holder will contribute to teaching and education in those involved in the care of children requiring a therapeutic diet in school.
Suitable applicants should have relevant experience such as paediatrics, catering or public health and will need to demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a practical, forward thinking approach to service development and evaluation.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
