The South Wales Doctoral Training Programme in Clinical Psychology: Clinical Academic (£47,126 - £53,219) or Senior Clinical Academic Tutor/s (£54,764 £63,862)
The South Wales Doctoral Training Programme in Clinical Psychology is seeking to appoint up to three new members of staff. The posts are available at agenda for change (A4C) grade 8a (£48,526 - £54,619) or 8b (£56,164 - £65,262) depending on experience. The posts will be part-time at approximately 0.6 WTE (although there is flexibility available). In addition if required we would assist a successful candidate wishing to work full-time to find additional clinical sessions in one of our collaborating NHS Health Boards.
Main duties of the job
The post/s involve act as appraisal tutors and support the management of placements, and delivery and organisation of teaching. There will also be opportunity to support the supervision of trainee dissertations. The posts are open to HCPC registered practitioner psychologists with backgrounds in any specialism, although we are particularly keen to attract candidates with additional experience in Older Adult and Learning Disability Services.
About us
The incoming post holders will likely join are 'clinical' or 'academic' 'streams'. However, we are keen to attract candidates with interest in developing a research portfolio or with demonstratable research expertise. For 8b appointments there would be expectation of leading on specific aspects of the programmes infrastructure such as chairing one of the programmes subcommittees or leading on a major area of programme development.
The Doctorate in Clinical Psychology is run in partnership between Cardiff and Vale University Health Board (CAVUHB) and Cardiff University. The programme is based in the School of Psychology which has an established international research record. The programme works in partnership with supervisors from across health boards in south, mid, east and west Wales.
