Job summary
Cardiff and Vale Health Board finance department are looking for a driven and ambitious finance professional to fill the role of Senior Finance Business Partner for the Medicine Clinical Board. The Clinical Board has an annual budget of £168m and services are provided across a number of sites in Cardiff and Vale. This post will afford significant opportunities for both personal and professional development together with an opportunity to be involved and lead on issues across the wider finance department.
The post is based at Woodland House, Cardiff. The department currently operates an agile working policy requiring a minimum of 50% of working time in the office.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will
- have delegated responsibility for providing professional financial leadership and managing the full provision of professional financial advice, support and information for the activities of the Medicine Clinical Board. This will enable the Clinical Board to effectively and proactively set and manage their budgets and finances to ensure the achievement of financial targets and plans.
- Key to this will be identifying opportunities for improvement in value and to deliver efficiency and savings plans
The successful candidate will:
- be a qualified accountant
- be a team player with a can do attitude and strong communication and influencing skills
- have a passion for best practice and improvement in value
- promote the use of sound financial information to support service improvement
- bring energy and vision to the Clinical Board to support and shape its strategic plan
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
