Job summary

We are recruiting Theatres Assistant to join our exceptional Short Stay Surgery Theatre teams based at the University Hospital of Wales. We cover a variety of specialities including, General Surgery, Ent, Urology, Gynae and Ophthalmology. These are some of the specialised services provided within the Health Board.

Our theatre team are renowned as highly skilled and a vital part of the wider Perioperative Care Directorate.

Main duties of the job

Working in our operating theatre suite at the University Hospital of Wales as a Band 2 Theatre Assistant you will be required to support Nurses, Doctors and technicians to look after patients during/after surgery. This role will be varied and you will work in the operating theatre itself.

You will be required to carry out duties such as portering, moving patients, collecting and setting up equipment ensuring it is clean and in working order, stocking up shelves of items used during surgery, inputting information in the computer and cleaning the theatre in between operations and at the end of the day.
