Job summary
We are looking for a knowledgeable, inspirational and confident individual to work with our team and develop the vision of the maternity and gynaecology services at Cardiff and Vale Over 5500 babies are born at Cardiff and Vale University Health Board each year and exciting times are ahead as we deliver the All Wales Strategic Vision for Maternity Service. If you have strong leadership qualities and have an ability to engage with staff we would love to hear from you.
The post holder will have responsibility for Maternity, Obstetrics and Gynaecology governance alongside the ongoing assurance of the quality of care and clinical effectiveness and regulatory compliance across the directorate.
The post holder will link with relevant Heads of Service to ensure effective analyses all adverse incidents, communicating the outcomes, recommendations and learning to the multidisciplinary team, facilitating and enabling staff to be actively involved in the incident reporting process promoting an open and just culture.
You will participate in directorate management leadership forums, and formulate and implement policies within your own area of responsibility. The post holder will need to be registered with the NMC as a Midwife and educated to Masters level or willing to undertake a relevant degree.
