Job summary
We are looking for three committed individuals seeking to get their careers as a clinical photographer off to a flying start, in the department of Medical Illustration at the University Hospital of Wales.
The successful candidates on this salaried scheme will undertake an 18 month, on-job training programme, designed to give trainee clinical photographers a sound knowledge and skill base from which to develop their career
Trainee Clinical Photographers (Band 5 Annex 21) will be working towards gaining skills and experience to be competent in meeting the duties and responsibilities detailed in this job description. This will enable them to be eligible to apply for a qualified Band 5 Clinical Photographer position. The trainees will also undertake a level 7 clinical photography work-based learning qualification.
This is an 18-month fixed term contract starting on Friday 1st September 2023 and ending on Friday 28th February 2025.
Main duties of the job
To work in a team of clinical photographers to produce clinical photographs / video to aid patient care, diagnosis, teaching, research and publications. The postholder will provide a range of photographic knowledge and skills to support a variety of multidisciplinary teams, across a range of clinical specialties within the organisation. Working in a variety of clinical environments, the postholder will use a combination of standardised and non-standardised photographic techniques.
This post is fixed term until 28/02/25 to meet the needs of the service.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
