Job summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic, compassionate and innovative Speech and Language Therapist (SLT) with excellent clinical and communication skills to join the Cardiff Community Resource Team (CCRT). The post holder will work within a close MDT to promote the independence of clients living in their own homes and within the care sector.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will have a degree qualification in Speech and Language Therapy (SLT) and will be HCPC registered. The post holder will manage an independent caseload, providing assessment, diagnosis, intervention and management to adults with communication difficulties associated with a wide range of acquired conditions. The post holder will also have the opportunity to develop competencies in the assessment and management of individuals with eating, drinking and swallowing difficulties.

The post holder will work as a member of the Cardiff Community Resource Team (CCRT) and will be based at the North West office in Whitchurch and South East office in Llanrumney as required.The post holder will work as part of the multi-disciplinary team, liaising with other agencies and disciplines within the health and social care sectorto promote the independence of clients living at home and within care settings.

The post holder will take part in service development projects, participate in in-service training opportunities, and participate in the teaching/training of external service users and other professions. They will also support clinical placements for undergraduate SLT students.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
