Job summary

Due to retirement an exciting and unique opportunity has arisen for an experienced and highly motivated pharmacist to take on the role of Head of the Welsh Analytical Prescribing Support Unit (WAPSU) to lead on data and medicines optimisation within the All Wales Therapeutics and Toxicology Centre (AWTTC).

You will be joining an enthusiastic and friendly multi-disciplinary team of professionals dedicated to improving the provision of health care in NHS Wales.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for an experienced pharmacist with knowledge and expertise on how prescribing data and medicines optimisation can influence the safer and more efficient use of medicines within NHS Wales. A clear vision of how the unit underpins the aims of the All Wales Medicines Strategy Group (AWMSG) medicines strategy will be paramount.

As part of the AWTTC Senior Management Team you will support AWMSG in advising Welsh Government on the use, management and prescribing of medicines in Wales and in driving the delivery of the Medicines Value agenda.
