Job summary
The role is within the UHB's strategic planning team, working closely with colleagues in the Communications Team, and provides policy leadership for the agendas of the UHB's key partnership forums as well as leading and advising on the UHB's approach to engagement and consultation.
Main duties of the job
As Head of Engagement and Strategic Partnerships you will develop the Health Board's strategic plan for engagement, planning and leading the work plan, ensuring that we have the right processes in place to undertake effective engagement with the populations we serve, our key stakeholders on how we transform our services and improve health outcomes.
As Head of Strategic Partnerships and Engagement, you will be our lead officer in relation to our partnership work through the two public service boards (PSBs). This work will also require ensuring clear alignment between other partnerships - including the Regional Partnership Board, and ensuring the health board plans are aligned with the Area and Wellbeing Plans.
The post holder will support and develop key strategic relationships and mechanisms for collaborative working. This includes acting as the policy lead on the Public Services Board agenda, the UHB's Stakeholder Reference Group and the UHB's strategic relationship with the local Third Sector.
The post holder will also be working with the Director of Communication and Engagement and the Deputy Director of Strategic Planning to co-ordinate the UHB's approach to engagement and consultation on strategic service transformation, promoting a co-productive and inclusive organisational culture and ensuring that the organisation is adhering to the legal and policy requirements relating to engagement on service change.

It will also involve working with a wide range of stakeholders in discussing and developing plans for services, ensuring that the public and people with lived experiences views are taken into account when options for change are considered and developed, through use of co-production and ongoing engagement. In leading this work, you will be working closely with other corporate departments and clinical boards to ensure effective engagement is embedded across the organisation.
