Job summary

These are exciting new posts created to offer successful applicants additional experience in an allied specialty whilst working at registrar level within a large and vibrant Emergency Unit with 'Major Trauma Centre' status. The positions would be ideally suited to candidates wanting to enhance their CV prior to entering higher specialty emergency medicine training, or during an 'out of program experience' year.

Qualifications

Essential

  • MBBS or equivalent
  • Life Support provider status on ALS, APLS or ATLS/ETC

Desirable

  • MCEM
  • Intercalated Degree
  • Academic Excellence
  • Instructor status in Life support Courses

PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE

Essential

  • 12 months experience of working in Emergency Medicine in the UK as a middle grade (i.e. able to lead a department at night with remote supervision).
  • 4 years of post graduate experience in specialities relevant to emergency medicine

Desirable

  • Some experience in Pre-Hospital trauma, paediatrics, intensive care, anaesthesia, acute medicine.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE , ABILITIES

Essential

  • Demonstrable skills in written and spoken English adequate to enable effective communication about medical and legal topics with patients and colleagues
  • Evidence of recent quality improvement projects or audit.

Desirable

  • Evidence of Teaching experience
