South Wales Blood and Marrow Transplant Programme

The Haematology directorate is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to the position of Data Manager in the South Wales Blood and Marrow Transplant (SWBMT) Programme.

Based at the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff, the post holder will be required to support increasing SWBMT Programme activity, which includes exciting new clinical trials in Cellular Therapy, and will provide essential data management support to the team. The post holder will ensure that appropriate data collection and monitoring systems are developed and maintained within the BMT/CAR-T services.

Excellent communication skills will be required to liaise with colleagues across the Health Board and external organisations. Previous experience in a similar NHS data management role would be advantageous, plus a high level of IT ability and excellent analytical skills will also be required.

Main duties of the job

The SWBMT Programme is an accredited service which incorporates adult, teenage/young adult and paediatric services on the UniversityHospital of Wales site and an adult service at Singleton Hospital in Swansea. The catchment area accounts for a large proportion of the Welshpopulation and spans six Welsh Local Health Boards, encompassing the South Wales Cancer Network. The clinical programme is supported by acollection, processing and storage facility on the UHW site and holds an HTA license.

The SWBMT Programme Director is assisted by directors of the clinical, collection and processing facilities plus a quality and data managementteam.
