Job summary
Are you seeking an opportunity to join a highly skilled multidisciplinary team who are passionate about promoting formulation driven care? We are looking to recruit a clinician with a keen interest in trauma informed approaches and with the enthusiasm and passion to promote effective, compassionate care for a population that remain vulnerable to experiencing stigma and rejection.
The Cynnwys team are a warm, supportive team where curiosity is invited and collaborative working is valued. Supervision and continuing professional development is viewed as essential to the role and the successful applicant will receive ongoing support to develop the highly specialist skills required for the post, including specialist skills in formulation, evidence based therapeutic interventions and in delivering consultation and advice to other disciplines.
This is an exciting time for the Cynnwys service as we look to support the development of a more compassionate, trauma informed approach to services for individuals who have been given a diagnosis of personality disorder.
Main duties of the job
The post will involve assisting inpatient and community teams with the formulation and management of complex, often high-risk presentations, as well as offering consultation and advice on the delivery of effective, psychologically informed care for individuals who present with significant emotional and interpersonal difficulties. A sound knowledge of key literature and evidence-based practice in relation to individuals who receive a diagnosis of Borderline Personality Disorder is therefore essential to the role.
The post will include contributing to the development and delivery of a package of staff training to roll out across the health board. Prior experience of teaching and training is therefore desirable. The individual will also be expected to represent the service at multi-disciplinary and multi-agency meetings and the applicant should be confident to convey complex psychological information in a way that is accessible to professionals, service users and their families.
The team has a well-established Dialectical Behaviour Therapy Program and the successful applicant will be supported to develop their competency in this specialist therapy, as well as being offered opportunities to develop familiarity and skill in applying other evidence based therapeutic approaches.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this role; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
