Job summary

To be responsible for the assessment of care needs and the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care without direction and supervision.

Demonstrate and supervise practice and procedures to registered and unregistered nursing staff to secure effective nursing practice.

To take a key role in the induction and mentorship of new and unregistered staff, and provide supervision.

This post will enable you to build up a good understanding of challenging behaviour, personality changes and other mental health disorders arising as a result of an ABI.

Main duties of the job

The Welsh Regional Neuropsychiatry Service are seeking highly enthusiastic and committed registered mental health nurses to join the team.

We are looking for an experienced Band 5 to be part of our service which enables and supports patients who have an Acquired brain injury to identify, monitor and take pride in achieving each recovery milestone. Successful candidates will be part of facilitating their recovery through supporting their cognitive, physical, psychological health and wellbeing.

This is a great opportunity to understand and to work with people with complex physical and mental health needs as a result of a Brain Injury and supporting their families. Successful candidates will be part of a well-established and supportive multidisciplinary team, working together, sharing expertise and benefiting from excellent professional development opportunities, all focused on being the best you can be, to deliver quality care.

As well as holding a recognized professional qualification in mental health nursing and full NMC registration, you should have a genuine interest working with people who have a Brain injury. Experienced MDT will support further professional development and regular supervision will be available for successful candidates.
