Job summary
Applications are invited for the post of Consultant in Community Child Health to work across the Cardiff and Vale University Health Board, based in Cardiff at the St David's Children's Centre or Llandough Children's Centre. This full-time post is one of three Consultant posts being advertised (25 sessions in total).
The Community Child Health team is a health-based multidisciplinary team that works with children living in Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan. The team delivers both universal and targeted services which address the needs of a range of children. Community Child Health services are Consultant-led and locality-based.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will help to deliver the Health Board's statutory duties under the Education Act, Adoption and Fostering legislation, and Children's Act.
Cardiff and Vale University Health Board is recognised as a teaching centre of excellence in a wide range of clinical services.
Academic interests will be encouraged; research and teaching in collaboration with Cardiff University's School of Medicine will be expected.
Although this post is full-time, consideration will be given to flexible working arrangements.
Applicants should either be on the Specialist Register or be a Specialist Registrar within six months of their expected CCT / CESR(CP) date at the time of interview.
You will be able to take advantage of the excellent Consultant contract for Wales. The basic salary range for this post is £82,356 per annum to £106,920 per annum plus a further £26,672 per annum available in Commitment Awards. Consultants in Wales paid on one of the first three points of the substantive Consultant pay scale also receive a Wales recruitment incentive payment.
Applicants must ensure they provide contact details of referees covering at least the last three years of their employment/training history in full. In addition, applicants who are currently or have most recently been employed as a substantive Consultant or as a Locum Consultant in post for more than 12 months must also provide their Medical Director's contact details.
