Job summary
An exciting opportunity is available to join Cardiff and Vale Local Gender Service.
The Local Gender Service (LGS) model was established due to the widespread lack of capacity for GP practices to initiate or continue to prescribe hormones to transgender and non-binary patients endorsed by Gender Identity Clinics (GICs).
The Cardiff and Vale Local Gender Service accepts referrals from the All Wales Gender Service for individuals aged over18 years for treatment initiation and monitoring for a period of up to 12 months, patients are then released to General Practice for management. The average caseload is currently 60 patients, with an average rate of 2-3 new patient per week.
The post holder will work in collaboration with the existing salaried GP. We are offering 2 sessions per week ( we will consider two GPs working a session each). Ideally sessions would be on Thursdays to enable joint provision with the existing salaried GP, however, there is potential to consider an alternate day if required.
