Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Physiotherapist to Lead the acute stroke team in UHW. The post will operationally lead the acute Stroke Team working closely with the Prinicipal Physiotherapist for stroke rehabilitation and the other highly specialist physiotherapists in Stroke rehabilitation and Early supported discharge . They will also liase with the existing Physiotherapy Team Leaders within the service and wider MDT staff to meet the service needs.

This post also manages the acute stroke weekend rota for physiotherapy . Currently within the advertised hours this would include 6 weekends per year as part of annualised hours. We have the opportunity to consider increasing the hours by increasing the frequency of weekends worked. The current hours would need to be worked over 4 days .

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be a dynamic and innovative neuro-rehabilitation physiotherapist with significant post registration experience and skills. They will be expected to carry a varied and complex caseload, lead a team of registered and non-registered physiotherapy staff while also working effectively as part of the multidisciplinary team.

The successful candidate will need to:- have broad experience of working within physiotherapy services delivering rehabilitation within Neurology- have previous senior clinical and leadership experience- be able to provide expert clinical supervision, support and advice to the Physiotherapy Team- be responsible for the daily management of staff and work flow within their designated staff group- to maintain professional standards within the Physiotherapy Team- have excellent organisational, communication and influencing skills- work well within a multidisciplinary team- be able to contribute to the smooth running of the wider physiotherapy service- to contribute to data collection and analysis
