Job summary
Applications are invited for Clinical Teaching Fellows (CTF) post in Medical Education with an anticipated start date of 3rd August 2022. Posts will be for one year initially but with scope to extend by a further 12 months.
Posts are available for full time (10 sessions per week) or part time (5 sessions per week) and postholders will be required to work on both the University Hospital of Wales (UHW) and University Hospital Llandough (UHL) sites. Any out of hours work undertaken will be paid at a suppliment as agreed by the relevant Clinical Board
This role offers an exciting opportunity for a forward thinking doctor to gain extensive experience in medical education, practical skills and simulation teaching and to mentor medical students to prepare them for life as a foundation doctor. Support will be available to pursue a postgraduate medical education based qualification if appropriate and the postholder will also benefit from having an honorary contract with Cardiff University with the title Honorary Lecturer. .
Main duties of the job
Teaching is the primary function of this role and the successful postholder will be keen to develop a special interest in medical education and have some prior experience of teaching medical students. There is also the opportunity to contribute to the clinical and simulation based teaching delivered for the foundation programme.
The role will require working closely with the Department of Medical Education, Honorary Senior Lecturer and undergraduate tutors to develop, deliver and evaluate evidence based undergraduate education to Cardiff and Swansea University medical students following the C21 curriculum
